In April 2018, a team of volunteers went to Iglesia Alianza Cristiana y Misionera de Santurce, a small congregation of 40 northeast of the capital of San Juan and near the coast to help in their Hurricane recovery project. In spite of suffering their own losses, the members of this church started reaching out to the suffering people of Santurce by providing meals, temporary shelter in the damaged church building and ensuring that local homeless people were cared for. The team helped with painting and electrical repairs to the facility to prepare it for major repairs to the roof.
Stonecrest CDC received over $6,100 of donations which were combined with $16,000 of donations from Stonecrest Community Church against our goal of $23,000! Thank you for helping to provide enough funds to complete the major aspects of this first phase project!
